Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income

We want playing with us to stay something you choose to do for enjoyment and can comfortably afford. Gambling is paid entertainment rather than a way to earn money. Every game is built so that the house comes out ahead over time, so treat your stake as the price of the entertainment, not as an investment.

Setting a budget before you play is the most useful habit you can build. Decide what you are willing to lose, stop when you reach that figure, and only ever use money you can afford to lose. Never gamble with money set aside for rent, bills, food or family commitments, and never with borrowed money. If you lose, resist the urge to pay in again to win it back. Chasing losses is how a small loss turns into a large one. Keep an eye on time as well as money, and avoid playing when you are tired, upset or have been drinking.

Our games are for adults. You must be 18 or over to open an account, place a stake or take part in a promotion with us. We hold a gaming licence and we verify the age and identity of our account holders. If we find that a customer is under 18, we close the account, void any winnings and return the remaining deposits.

The tools in your account and how to switch them on

Every account includes a set of free safer gambling tools. You will find them in the responsible gaming area of your account settings, and you can use as many of them together as you like.

ToolWhat it doesWhen it takes effect
Deposit limitCaps how much you can pay in over a day, a week or a monthAs soon as you set or lower it
Loss limitCaps your net losses over the period you chooseAs soon as you set or lower it
Session limitWarns you or ends play once your chosen playing time is upYour next session
Reality checkShows an on-screen reminder of how long you have played and where you standYour next session

Self-exclusionBlocks play and marketing for a longer period set out in your accountStraight away, and cannot be reversed

Limits on deposits, losses and time

Deposit and loss limits let you fix in advance what a day, a week or a month of play may cost you. Session limits and reality checks deal with time instead of money: a reality check interrupts play at the interval you choose and tells you how long you have been playing, so the decision to carry on is a conscious one. The amounts and periods you can choose are those shown in your account.

Time-outs and self-exclusion

A time-out is a short, fixed break. Your account stays open, but you cannot deposit or play until it ends, and we stop sending you marketing. Self-exclusion is for longer. Once it starts we block play, close access to the games and remove you from marketing for at least the minimum period set out in your account, and we cannot lift it early at your request. When a self-exclusion ends, your account stays blocked until you contact us and a short cooling-off period has passed.

How to apply a tool and when it takes effect

  1. Sign in and open the responsible gaming area of your account settings.
  2. Choose the tool you want: a deposit, loss or session limit, a reality check, a time-out or self-exclusion.
  3. Pick the amount or period from the options shown and confirm your choice.
  4. Check the confirmation on screen and in the e-mail we send you.
  5. If you would rather not do it yourself, ask our live chat team or e-mail support@casinoalfobet.co.uk and we will apply it for you.

Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem

Difficulties with gambling rarely start suddenly. The following checklist covers the patterns people most often recognise in hindsight.

  • You play for longer, more often or for higher stakes than you intended.
  • You pay in again after a loss to try to win the money back.
  • You gamble with money meant for rent, bills, food or other commitments, or with money you have borrowed.
  • You hide how much you gamble, or how much you have lost, from people close to you.
  • Gambling is affecting your work, your studies, your sleep or your relationships.
  • You gamble to escape stress, low mood, loneliness or boredom.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you are not gambling, or guilty afterwards.
  • You have tried to cut down or stop and found that you could not.

If several of these apply to you, consider setting a limit or taking a time-out today and speaking to one of the organisations below. Our support team cannot give clinical or financial advice, but we can apply any tool to your account and point you towards help.

Where to get free, confidential help

Help in the United Kingdom is free, confidential and available whether you are worried about your own gambling or someone else's.

  • GambleAware is a charity that funds free treatment and prevention work across Great Britain and publishes plain-English information, budget calculators and self-assessment tools.
  • GamCare provides free counselling, group support and practical advice by phone, online and in person, for people who gamble and for friends and family affected by it.
  • GamStop is the free self-exclusion scheme that blocks you from online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for a period you choose, across every participating operator rather than only with us.
  • The National Gambling Helpline is staffed around the clock by trained advisers who can talk things through with you in confidence and help you find local treatment.

Your GP can refer you for treatment, and a free debt advice charity can help if gambling has left you with money worries. Telling someone you trust is often the hardest step and the one that helps most.

Protecting minors on shared devices

We check the age and identity of everyone who registers, using the documents and electronic checks described in the account area, and we repeat those checks during the life of an account, including before a withdrawal is paid. Accounts that fail age verification are suspended until the matter is settled.

Your account is personal to you and you are responsible for activity on it. If children live in your home or use the same computer, phone or tablet, do not save your password or payment details in the browser, log out after every session, keep cards and banking apps out of reach, and never let anyone else play on your account.

Parental control and filtering software can block gambling sites on the devices children use. Options are available from specialist software providers, from many home broadband services and from the settings built into most phones, tablets and computers, which can also restrict app installations and in-app purchases. We encourage any adult sharing a device with a child to switch one of these on.
